Milestones

The term "milestones" originates from the Roman Empire, where physical stone markers were placed along roads to indicate distances. These markers, called miliaria in Latin (sounds like a disease), were typically placed at intervals of one Roman mile (approximately 1,000 paces or about 4,800 feet). They served as waypoints for travelers, providing information about how far they were from a particular city or destination.

Throughout our lives we have numerous milestones: parents, siblings, spouses, children, jobs, failures, successes. My first HiFi system was in 1975.

Today marks the start of the new year, and this blog post is number 5,000. That's a lot of blog posts.

What exciting new milestones do you have planned for this year?

I can tell you with some measure of confidence that I have several big ones planned—milestones that I am excited to share with each and every one of you.

What are they? Ahhh, they are to remain hidden like cats in a bag until we open it.

I'll let you know as time goes by.
