Embrace the space

We all get it—pulling our speakers out into the room isn’t exactly interior design-friendly.

A pair of FR10s or 20s standing proudly away from the walls can look, well, a little "noticeable". And sure, in a perfect world, speaker designers would have cracked the code by now, making speakers that can live against the front wall without sacrificing soundstage and imaging. But so far, the physics of the room still wins.

Could we embrace it instead?

When speakers are set up properly—positioned to let them breathe, carefully placed for the best imaging—something extraordinary happens. They disappear. The soundstage stretches wide and deep, and suddenly, you’re no longer listening to speakers; you’re listening to music existing in a space all its own. And when you experience that kind of magic, does it really matter if your speakers are a few feet into the room?

Rather than worrying about how they look, let’s celebrate what they do. Because once you hear a system where the speakers vanish and the music takes over, you’ll never want to push them back against the wall again.

I promise.
