I was thinking back over the years as to how many different pieces of equipment and pairs of speakers I have owned and it's a lot. Too many, in fact, to count (or more likely to remember).
Of course, some of the major highlights stick out: my Tympani bass panels, The IRSV, the Audio Research SP3, the Genesis Stealth, the BHK amps, the DirectStream DAC, the P300 Power Plant, the Aspen speakers.
And while those and everything else I have played with form the basis of an entire life of high-end audio, at the end of the proverbial day, who's counting?
What really matters is not the number of pieces or the many times I've swapped this for that (don't even get me going about cable choices), but rather the cumulative impacts of knowledge, experience, and pleasure.
I doubt anyone's keeping count but when it comes to the pleasure of the journey it all counts.
