The missing element

With all the emphasis on equipment and music it's sometimes easy to ignore one of the most critical aspects of our high-end audio systems.

The chair.

One of the first things I do when I encounter a new system or setup is to move the center seat back and forth to see where the optimum sound is heard. I also move myself up and down a smidge to make certain the height is right for the music.

Making sure your seating height and position is in the optimal place is one of the most critical steps in the building and enjoying of a high-performance system. Imagine getting into a new car and not adjusting the seat and steering wheel for that perfect fit. You're always more comfortable when that's just right.

The seat is that often overlooked critical element that we mostly take for granted.

It's good to remember it is the central point where everything converges to make musical magic.
