One of the great joys for me is hearing deeper into the music. To clear away the acoustic haze and hear what I have not heard before.
The more I listen to the MK2 DAC running Massive firmware, the more amazed I am.
And how is it that a firmware change gets better with use?
Burning in firmware?
It kind of makes sense when you consider that with every change in firmware the FPGA silicon is reconfigured: different gates handle different tasks. What actually happens over time is a mystery to me but still, I hear it.
Sense or no sense, track after track of familiar music is opening new wonders for me.
If you own an MK2 make sure to install the latest firmware.
If you don't own one, I am sorry.
