In today's polarized environment, where it seems like you're either for or against one thing or another, I think it might behoove us to step back just a smidge and take a little more time forming our opinions.
For example, if you hear me say vinyl has limited dynamic range compared to even the lowly CD, you might jump to the conclusion I don't support vinyl.
But you would be wrong.
The problem stems from the notion that people who believe one thing likely believe another. Are we so impatient that we cannot take a precious moment to dig a little deeper into someone's beliefs and fears?
"Digital audio is hard and lifeless compared to analog." Of course, we've all heard exactly that sound, but does that make it a universal truth?
I guarantee you it does not.
"I don't like vanilla" doesn't mean you don't like ice cream. It simply means you prefer chocolate.
We're not likely to fix the crazy world out in politics these days but perhaps we can work on our own little corner of the world.
Take a deep breath. Take a moment to look deeper into what's being put forward.
It sure helps keep the Tums in the bottle.
