It’s hard to have experienced something unpleasant and overcome that hesitation.
I know plenty of folks having once had a bad experience listening to a particular system or technology that will forever stay away from it based on that single experience.
I suppose there’s plenty of wisdom in this old chestnut, but better perhaps to be open to the idea of placing less emphasis on a single experience than to lose out on what could be something great.
I think this is ever more true as technology morphs. If you’d formed an opinion on digital audio in the 1990s, just imagine your surprise to hear what it sounds like now.
The past can help form opinions but we shouldn’t let it build a cage around our future prospects.
