Day two of the CEDIA show.
On day one, I was explaining how a Power Plant worked to an interested dealer.
He was interested because of the P5's ability to be controlled over the internet; not aware of any other benefits to the system. Halfway through my explanation he blurted, "so let me get this straight. This is a power conditioner that does something?" Bingo. The look of surprise on his face was priceless.
What's interesting to me is we have a growing number of dealers and installers who have heard of the high-end as perhaps some ancient fringe group that was around at the start of audio itself, but then sort of faded out into oblivion.
When I explain to them that we, as well as some of our fellow manufacturers, are working hard at bringing the high-end into the 21st century, they are pleasantly surprised and delighted.
Everyone wants better performance. Who wants second best?
The high-end is alive and well folks, and we're out here having fun like kids in a new sandbox.
Imagine: something that actually does something. What a novel concept!
