Audiophile catnip

Most cats are drawn to the plant Nepeta cataria, more commonly known as catnip. The intoxicated felines sniff, rub, roll, purr, and leap around.

While catnip doesn't do much for me, there are other forms of intoxication.

Passing through the engineering lab outside my office door I stopped dead in my tracks at the sight of 4 huge film capacitors mounted to a new prototype board. OMG, they were beautiful. Black with gold lettering, each placed perfectly on the board (can't yet disclose what they were part of).

Our engineer, Jordan smiled and said, "Audiophile catnip".

It's true.

How many of us are drawn like magnets to certain aspects of our passion? For some it might be equipment, or parts, or just the sound itself.

I can't purr, but I sure can salivate.

BTW, for those who are interested in Octave Radio, Leo, one of our kind HiFi Family members, got Roon to list Octave Radio on their Live Stations are. So if you're a Roon user, go to Live Stations and click on Ocatev Radio and enjoy.
