What part of your high end audio system does your thinking revolve around? Or, put another way, what's the center of your hi-fi universe?
For many, it's the loudspeaker at the center. Electronics driving them take second seat. For others it's the source. I can think of a number of vinyl junkies that are far more concerned with turntables and phono stages than they are speakers, amps or cables. And just as many with tricked out servers feeding DACs.
When we focus on particulars in our systems it's typically with the edges: sources or loudspeakers. I suspect they get more attention because they are more often the interface we interact with.
Of course, intellectually, we understand no one part of our system's signal chain is more important than another. It just seems that way from time to time.
