Much of Octave Records music is created by Colorado musicians. So, it was exciting when a local FM radio station wanted to feature some of those artists.
And even more exciting when, upon hearing a good selection of Octave works, they turned us down with a polite note that read:
"Thank you for your submissions. We find that the music presented to us has too little compression and uneven loudness, so we will not be able to broadcast it on the station."
Upon further conversation we learned the dynamic range was simply too great and that would not work on the radio.
We were thrilled. What a wonderful compliment.
Which got us thinking...
