The status quo is both a Latin term and a British rock band.
If we ignore the band, the phrase means keeping things the same: same routine, same day to day, same performance levels from your system.
For me, I am happiest when the status quo is maintained at a high level of perfection. Especially as it concerns my stereo system. I expect it to sound and perform up to the standards I have set.
Until someone demonstrates the possibility of better. A new tweak, a new setup procedure, changes to the circuit.
Then, the status quo is turned upside down and I have to readjust. Everything is new. I need to re-listen and re-enjoy.
Like the changing of seasons.
It's what keeps me going.
