I still love the idea of physical media but I am not certain why.
With all the work we've done perfecting streaming through the AirLens, it isn't for sound quality reasons anymore.
Perhaps it has something to do with focus and attention? When I put a new SACD into the player I am obligated to play what's in the machine. I relax, I choose the track and I sit back enjoy. With streaming it's almost too easy.
Once I am on the streaming platform all of a sudden the opposite happens. The world of music is at my fingertips and my horizons expand. I don't gravitate back to the physical media.
In the end, streaming wins but, again, not sure I have figured out why I even bother choosing one over the other.
Perhaps more than anything it's because I listen to a lot of Octave Records and that's only available via physical media.
You?
