And while we're marinating on yesterday's post about lots of boxes I am also wondering about lots of wire.
I look at my reference system and see the maze of cables and connectors and I wonder.
Will there come a day when all there is plugs into a wall outlet?
Of course we have wireless speakers—though not so much in the high end. Seems we're for the most part still tethered to either input cables going into one speaker box or one cable connecting between the left and right sides.
We certainly know how to make seamlessly perfect wireless connections. It's not easy. It's not been done very well in the high-end.
I for one get nervous about the loss of performance that I suspect might be the end result of going fully wireless.
And I kind of like my reference setup just the way it is.
But I wonder…
