Habits and fixes

I have an eating problem. Without fail, I somehow manage to slop food onto my shirt or pants or both.

I am 75 years old and still haven't figured out a way around this dilemma. I could wear a bib, but then I would feel like that's a cop out. I reprimand myself and determine to instead fix the problem.

But I never do.

How many of us are up to the task of actually addressing the real source of problems? Instead of replacing our favorite loudspeaker with something better we buy all sorts of workarounds to fix the problem.

It took me 30 years of lusting after the Infinity IRS before I finally broke down and bought a pair. It took another decade and a half of conspiring with the IRS designer, Arnie Nudell to build something better, plus the addition of our loudspeaker genius, Chris Brunhaver, before I was ready to let go of my babies for something clearly better.

Change is hard.

Band Aids are quick and easy until they are not.
