What's the difference between and Audio Enthusiast and an Audiophile?
Technically, not a lot—we're all here to enjoy music and high end audio, to have fun—but this comment I received from a reader who goes by Movieguy, hit a nerve.
"As much of an enthusiast of all things two channel and home theater, I would never call myself an audiophile since I run the risk of being criticized by a know it all audiophile (who may or may not be as knowledgeable as I am). I prefer to call myself an “audio video enthusiast” since it doesn’t lay claim I know everything and if I spoke to an audiophile from that perspective I can case them out better to see if they’re an a-hole or someone who truly wouldn’t mind educating me with their knowledge."
I trust we are here to raise our awareness, to better our systems, to congregate with like minded people.
It's called community and I hope we can all respect each other enough to enjoy the benefits of our comradery.
Audiophile or Enthusiast.
I would suspect we are both.
