Arte TV

Terri and I do not watch much television. Too much violence or depressing stuff for the most part. If it's not on Disney we'll typically do something else in the evenings.

Then, we discovered Arte TV. Available as an app on our Apple TV (and I am guessing easily accessed on other devices as well as a simple web app), all of a sudden we were enthralled.

Lots of music and the arts oriented programming. We first watched a wonderful live performance honoring the late Quincy Jones.

No ads.

Wonderful performance.

Outstanding production.

What's not to like?

Who is paying for this? I did a bit of research and here's what I found:

"Arte TV, is a collaboration between France and Germany, and has been enriching European culture for over three decades. This unique network brings high-quality arts, humanities, and cultural programming to a wide audience—completely free of charge and without commercial interruptions. Designed to bridge cultural divides, Arte reaches beyond language barriers, offering its programs in French, German, and several other languages."

Sometimes we stumble upon something that exists simply because it is a gift that elevates our culture.

Thank you.
