		"My system consists of a Conrad-Johnson Premier 140 power amp, Premier 17LS2 preamp, Premier 15 phono stage, Nottingham Hyperspace turntable, Arcam something-or-other CD player, an old Technics tape deck, and Focal-JMLabs Alto Be speakers. Given the tubes pieces, one would expect the P1000 to be about maxed out, but this is not the case at all. I haven't cranked the system up over 65 (out of 99) (but that was creating 98db peaks in a less-than-raccous orchestral Bocherrini piece at the listening position 10 feet from the speakers, using the turntable as the source - CD would've been higher), but the Percentage of Utilization display on the P1000 runs about 37%-38%. I wasn't able to get more than 40% out of it, even at the hightest volume levels I listened at. I'm impressed. As for the effect the P1000 had on my system's sound quality - in a word: incredible! MUCH improved resolution and soundstaging. The difference was far more significant than I expected. It's a pity the Power Plants don't have a defeat switch on them to make it easy to A/B it, but if they did, people would think the defeat position was "rigged" to degrade the sound quality.
