"I have hooked up two different tube phono preamps to my VPI table and with each one I got awful hum and RFI. I've tried shielded cables and that didn't help. One of the tube phono preamps had balanced outs and that didn't help. Hum and the local radio station competed with the music through the speakers with both units. (Another oddity: When I listened through my headphones, there was absolutely none of the hum or RFI.)
However, when I hooked up things through the PS Audio GCPH...it all cleared up. Virtually no hum or RFI. Same table, same cables, same everything, except the phono preamp.

The GCPH is the finest phono stage we have ever made in our 30 year history of building high end phono stages. Awesome musicality, open, spacious sound. Accepts any cartridge, moving coil or moving magnet. Extremely low noise. Download the Manual: GCPH Phono Preamplifier Manual
